Failure to Print

I have an hp psc 2110 all-in-one. I performed a power cycle and it solved the
problem. When my printer failed to print again, I performed another power
cycle, this time it didn't work. The only time the printer would work is when
I uninstall and install the printer software. When this is done the printer
will work for approximately 24 hrs. then it will fail to print again. I have
had this problem now for at least 3 months and it seems nobody has a solution.

Does anyone have any thoughts or solutions?

Have you checked the HP Tech Support for a solution? It sounds like the
print spooler is going bad. How old is the printer? Is it still under
warranty?

Yes, I've checked with HP tech support twice. The printer is only 1-1/2 years
old and is not under warranty.

If your spooler is getting bad, try the following which may work.
Under Control Panel click Printers and Faxes>rightclick your printer
and click Properties. Click the Advanced tab and tick "Print directly
to the Printer">Apply>OK
This way you'll bypass the spooler. Or click the Printing Defaults button.
Try a few other settings. Otherwise, you may have to invest in a new
printer. Happy putering! :~)

If it's connected via USB it could be the USB port is going to sleep.....

Right click on My Computer and select Properties. From the Hardware tab,
click on Device Manager. Scroll down until you see the USB (Universal
Serial Bus Controllers. Click on the + on the left hand side to display the
tree.

Right click each USB Root Hub and click on the Power Management tab...
ensure the box to Allow the Computer to turn off this Device to Save Power
is UNCHECKED.

Reboot.

Monitor the PC and see if you notice any change over the next couple of
days.
