failling to install a printer in XP

I cant seem to install a printer on my XP. after running the installation CD,
It says that I must get out of safe mode but its not in safe mode.

What can I do to install.

it says that I must get out of safe mode but it's not in safe mode.

What can I do to install?

Some printer installers need 256 or more colors to run properly. You
possibly need to increase the color resolution so the installer will
work. If that's the cause of the error message:

Open Display Properties, Settings tab, increase the color quality. Try
the install again. If the color won't increase, you'll need to
reinstall the drivers for your graphics card.

It's also possible the problem is discussed in the Help section of the
printer manufacturer site. If you'd included the printer model and
brand, I would've looked it up for you.
