I have given up trying to install this...my Dell is too
weak? Anyway, the XP disc makes a nice drink coaster.

The install died about 1/2 way through with a Status Code
0x4,0,0,0. Now when I boot up, it offers Windows 98 or
Windows XP setup.

How can I get it back to plain vanilla 98? I tried a
complete reinstall of 98 and it still gives that
intermidiate menu.

The error message advised contacting Technical
Support...HAHAHAHAHAHA...GFL!

Tucker, go to Windows Explorer>Tools>Folder Options>View. click on Show
all Hidden files and folders and uncheck
Hide protected operating system files. Restart and now you should be able to
see the Boot.ini file in C:\ Open it and
where it says timeout=30, change the value to 1. You can also delete any
WinXP window folder if there.

It is good to know that some people have so much money that they can afford
to use XP cd's as coasters.. that it failed was down to you.. failing to
check minimum specs before purchasing XP..
