Failed update, netrwork (?)

I ran the Belarc Advisor and got this report:

Windows Media Player 10 KB914440 failed installation: Reinstall!

Add/Remove Programs shows WMP 11. There is no mention of WMP 10 being
on my machine.

From what I can make out KB914440 has something to do with networks.
I'm not sure just what a network is. I have a desktop plugged into a
router and my laptop is connected by wireless, but I don't think
either machine is aware of the other one. Is that a network?

Since I don't have WMP11 (and probably don't have a network either),
is it safe to just ignore the failed installation?

WME SP2 on Dell Dimension C521

Thanks

Yes. Not real useful but a network nevertheless.

You meant to write WMP 10. You may have remnants of WMP10. Belarc does not
get all of its information from Add/Remove anyway.
You definitely have a network, else how are you posting to the internet?

However, I would ignore the report. Others may have other ideas.

You do have WMP11 for it is listed in Add/Remove programs and
you also have a network. Go to MS Updates/Custom and when it lists the
Updates, click the Plus (+) sign in front of KB 914440 and on the
bottom click "Do not show me this Update again", that will solve
your problem of the little Update shield on your taskbar.
