Failed to obtain a DC

"init: failed to obtain a DC for the system printer" is
the error message I recieve when trying to read from a CD-
Rom.

Anyone know the answer to this one?
 
What program caused this error? Were you trying to print something from the
CD? Do you have a (default) printer connnected?

The error message relates to a program trying to set up for printing, and
could not get the information that describes it capabilities.
