I had a corrupt Hal.dll file, which I cured by expanding
the file in the recovery console. Now however, Windows
does not boot up, it gets to the point where the Windows
XP is shown to be loading, but then a blue screen flashes
up, too quickly to be read and then the computer restarts.
Every time it starts again this loads up:
We apologise for the inconvenience that Windows did not
start successfully a recent hardware or software change
might have caused this. If your computer stopped
responding, restarted unexpectedly or was automatically
shutdown to protect your files and folders, choose last
known good configuration to revert to the most recent
setting that worked. If a previous start up attempt was
interrupted due to a power failure or because the power or
reset button was pressed, or if you aren't sure what
caused the problem, choose Start Windows normally.
Safe Mode
Safe Mode with networking
Safe Mode with Command prompt
Last Know good Configuration ( your most recent settings
that worked)
Start Windows normally
And whichever option I choose the same thing happens
again. Please help. If I go to the setup option after
booting through the cd I don't have the repair option, it
only lists the partition and the option to install over
the top of this.
