Failed 0x80004005 Unspecified Error

Defender correctly find malware but when I select the action to remove it it
returns a dialog box for each with a message saying "Failed 0x80004005
Unspecified Error" - anyone else getting this?

Yep I am getting the same problem. Anyone found a solution yet?

additional information...

System Drive Letter is F: (I don’t have a Partition assigned to C
spyware resides in other users "my documents" folder (user has no password
protection)

I am receiving the same error. I beleive that it has something to do with
removing items in archived files, but I cannot find anything about how to
resolve the issue.

Yes, I get the same error mesage too! It seems to disappear, unless I look
for it under 'History', if I do a second 'quick' scan. I only installed
Defender a couple of days ago and I never had a problem like this when I was
using AntiSpyware Beta. Look forward to someone coming up with a solution.

yes i am getting the exact same problem - it finds the spyware and then i try
to remove it and get the error code. never had this prolem with antispyware
beta1 - CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE ITS DRIVING ME MAD!!!!!!!!!!!
