Fading Pictures smoothly

How can I fade in and out pictures and clip art more
smoothly? Even when I set the fading to fast, it tends to
jump several "frames" and makes it, unsmooth. Can anyone
help?
I'm using Windows XP and Powerpoint 2002.

Try this:
Click SLIDE SHOW and select SET UP SHOW.
At the bottom under PERFORMANCE, make sure the USE HARDWARE GRAPHICS
ACCELERATION is checkmarked.

In PowerPoint 2002 (and 2003) this is a new feature and can have a big
impact on your animations.

I'd probably play with hardware acceleration settings.

Update video drivers.

Check your color settings in the same place where you find hardware
acceleration.
