fading a background picture

Jodi

I have 2007, I created a presentation using a photograph that I faded to 60%
transparency as the background design. When I give this presentation to
others who have 1997, the backgrounds are full color, not 60% faded, so they
can't read the slides. I saved teh presentation as 1997 but that doesn't
help. How can I keep them faded? Or how can I fade them on 97? Any help is
MUCH appreciated!

Hi Jodi

Do the people with '97 need to be able to edit the files? If not, you could
include the viewer with your presentation (by using office button ->
publish -> package for cd) or get them to download it from:
PowerPoint 2003 viewer:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...27-43AB-4F24-90B7-A94784AF71A4&displaylang=en
PowerPoint 2007 viewer:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...40-14E1-467D-8DCA-19D2A8FD7485&displaylang=en

I'm afraid I can't remember PowerPoint '97 but this may be useful to you:
PowerPoint 2002 (XP) vs 2000 vs 97

If using the viewer won't work for you you may need to edit the pictures
externally. Oh wait, you could make your adjustments -> right click the
picture -> save as picture -> reinsert it & delete original. Can't believe
it took me so long to get to that...
