I upgraded my Excel from 2000 to 2002 and since then I've been havin
this problem. When I go back to my spread sheets created in Excel 200
and try to change the formulas (etc.) I hit the F2 key to refresh an
start overwriting the formula, my insert/overwrite feature works onl
on the first two characters the rest is being pushed over to the right
When I hit the F2 key down in my status bar I see the Overwrit
feature being turned ON but after the second character it is bein
turned OFF automatically. Any idea why???

Please help.

What you indicate does not sound familiar nor can I make it happen.
Take a look at your Tools, options, Edit and see what you have
for Edit directly in cell. (I have that checked)

F2: Activate a cell and the formula bar

If you do tools>option>edit and uncheck edit directly in
cell, then F2 will put you in edit mode in the formula bar.

Thank you David. Just like you recommended, I unchecked "Edit directl
in cell" and now with the F2 function I get to edit my formulas in th
formul bar which works as welland saved me a lot of frustration.
Thanks again.

Thanks for the feedback, since I wasn't sure that was the answer
you were looking for.

As my problem persisted, I just realized that unchecking the Edit
directly in cell option works only in cells with numbers(digits) in
them.
In any function formula based cells overwrite only goes as far as two
characters...and it drives me nuts! Help!
