F keys

Does anyone know where the information for the F keys are kept. I deleted a
shortcut before removing the F key from it and even an unrelated reformat
didn't release it.

I really need to assign the key to a shortcut I made.

Which function key do you have problem? You can try to assign it to another
problem. That's All I know about this. Hope this helps.

F12. When I made it the original shutdown key and then later I had to
reformat I forget to remove the shortcut, it never release F12 and now I
can't assign it to anything.
