I had to return my printer because of a defect. When I
hooked up and installed the new one, I now have 2 printer
icons on the taskbar. I tried to fix it, but only created
2 more. Does anyone know how I can remove icons
permanently from the taskbar?

Click start and go to printers and faxes, remove them there.

I already removed them from there (first thing I tried)-
it didn't help

Have you tried right-clicking on the extra icons and deleting them?

no option to delete when right-clicking - I can only close
and then they reappear upon reboot.

.
No option to delete - I can close them but they reappear
on reboot.
