While Windows Mail is crashing fairly frequently with me, the most
consistent and disruptive problem is that when creating a new email message,
it will take from two to four MINUTES for the New Message window to open
completely.
What happens is that the New Message window is formed, but only the
framework. There are no buttons, no labels, just blank address slots,
subject line, and text area. None of this is labeled and doing ANYTHING AT
ALL while the rest of it loads causes WM to crash. What I have to do is
wait for two to four minutes, and then suddenly all the labels will appear,
the buttons will materialize, and everything works fine.
The same basic thing happens when hitting Reply on an existing email.
The equivalent does NOT happen in newsgroups. Posting a new message or
replying works just fine.
I've terminated my anti-virus (Avast!) scanning of email, and I've rebooted.
No change in the problem.
