Hello,
My office just upgraded to XP and several computers are experiencing
dramatic slowdowns in odd situations. For example, when the user
right-clicks on any document, typically a little menu should pop up asking
the user if he wishes to open the document, view its properties, etc. Once a
user right-clicks on any document, the window essentially freezes up; the
user sees the "hourglass" cursor for 2-3 minutes before the menu finally pops
up. The same sort of semi-freeze occurs whenever one has a document selected
and tries to open the File menu; this also occurs when we try to delete any
documents by any manner other than dragging to the Recycle Bin. Does anyone
have any suggestions? We've already performed thorough virus and spyware
checks that didn't turn up anything.
Thanks.
