EXTREME Password Problem

I use XP Home. Upon returning from a week-long business trip, I connected my
laptop to my office computer to update the Briefcase files. Upon booting-up
the laptop, it asked me for a password. It has never done this before.

PLEASE READ ON. I entered just about all the passwords I could imagine.
None worked, incuding "blank." I booted-up in the SAFE mode. I could not
get in as the Adminstrator because it also asked for a password, and there
never has been one.

I followed advise given on another forum, and downloaded a CDBootdisk file
(MY COMPUTER DOES NOT HAVE A FLOPPY DRIVE). I downloaded from
http://home.eunet.no. I successfully was able to bootup from the CD, BUTH
WHEN I TRIED TO CHANGE THE PASSWORDS, nothing happened. I couldn't accept a
"*" or a "blank." I tried several numbers and letters and it would take any
of them.

I am at a loss. I tried the links that others have suggested, but either
they are for creating FLOPPIES (which I do not have), or they refer me to
home.eunet.no, or they are not applicable.

Can anyone help?

Hub Cap,

As I said in my original post:

"I entered just about all the passwords I could imagine.
None worked, incuding "blank." I booted-up in the SAFE mode. I could not
get in as the Adminstrator because it also asked for a password, and there
never has been one."

Any other ideas?
