extracting the catagories from the pst file?

Hi, I have noticed that separate emails seem to retain thier
catagories even if the catagories were not backed up to a reg file. My
question is, can I somehow extract all the catagories I have made to
the present list of catagories (to be backed up for ever and ever [now
that i know how]) or to a text file? Any help would be appreciated.

try to reset the normalemail.dotm file
....quit outlook, search it on your c: drive and delete it and then restart
outlook

categories - even those you didn't add to the Master List of Categories.
