Catagories Master List

My catagories master list does not save catagories as they are added. When I
go to a company listed with catagory the catagory will show up in master
list, but when I enter a new company and go to catagory list the catagory
will not be listed. I add it for that company but next time I go to master
list the catagory is not there. What am I doing wrong?

What Outlook version do you use? And how/where do you enter a new category?

I am entering my catagory by clicking on catagorize, clicking on Catagories,
new (entering new catagory name) add new catagory window I name catagory and
then click ok. When I close Outlook and then reopen Outlook and go to Color
Categories window, click on all categories, the only ones showing up are the
6 colored catagories. When I go to a client with a category I have named
previously and go to categories, it says category not in master list.
