extract smtp address from defauly mail clinet ?

Im writing an application that uses SMTP to send an email. Does anyone know
how I can read in the default SMTP address from the default mail client on a
machine automatically from a .net application ?

i.e is it kept in a readable file somewhere that i could open in notepad ?
