extract pictures from a slide show

My friends sent me pictures from our vacation in the form of a slide show on a
CD-R. I was wondering if there is any way that i can extract the files off
of there to have individual pictures i can store as regular jpeg files on my
computer.

It depends on which program the slide
show was created with. If there are individual
copies of the image files on the CD, you
can use the following steps to copy them
to a folder on your hard drive.

1) Right click your desktop, choose...
New / Folder. This will create a New
Folder on your desktop...this is where
the image files will be copied.

2) Insert the CD in your CD drive. A
dialog box may appear on your screen
that says: What do you want windows
to do? You will have several choices...
Choose...
"Open Folder To View Files" / "OK".

2B) If the dialog box does not appear...
go to the *My Computer* icon on your
desktop and left click it. In the window
that opens you will see all of your drives.
Right click the icon for your CD drive...
(probably (D:)...from the menu...choose
...."Open"...

3) Now you should see a window with
some folders in it. This is the contents of
the CD. Left click the various folders until
you find the image files. When you see
the images pop up...Go to the toolbar at
the top of the window and left click...
....Edit / Select All...
.....once more....
....Edit / Copy...
Now you can close the window.

4) Now...open your New Folder with a
left click and go to...Edit / Paste...this
will copy the selected image files into
your New Folder.

Or...

4B) Right click the New Folder and from
the menu...choose...Paste.
