At start-up, when all other programs have loaded (firewall,av etc) I get a
windows explorer window.
I haven't deliberately configured this, and I cannot find the source.
Any ideas?

Try checking in the view tab. From an explorer window
click tools and folder options. Go to the view tab and see if the Restore
previous folder windows at logon option is checked. If it is, uncheck it.
It's possible the computer might have been rebooted before with the explorer
window left open.

This is already unchecked..
Any other thoughts?
