extra space showing in a report

In a report, I have a block of space appearing between the Organization
Header information and the Detail information. The bar between the
Organization Header and Detail information is pulled up to the last field in
the Organization Header section and the first field in the Detail section is
right up to the bar. So, in Design View I cannot see why it is giving me a
block of space between the two sections.

Set the background colors of sections and controls to unique colors so you
can determine what is causing this.

I set two different background colors to the Organization Header section and

Do you have any VBA code in the Format or Print events for the Organization
Header that might be changing its Height?

Way back in (I think) Access 2.0, there was a bug that sometimes resulted in
"ghost height" such as you described... not visible in design, but there in
runtime. I don't remember a workaround, nor if it was fixed in one of the
Service Packs... that was a long time ago.

Consider creating a new, empty report and copy/pasting the Controls from
this one, and see if that fixes the problem.

Apparently you didn't set the background colors of the controls to see if you
have a control that is growing to increase the height. Try it.

I would also check all of the Can Grow properties of the controls and
sections.
