Your non-standard terms impede any answer.
1. Are you asking whether you can fit an
external hard drive permanently inside the PC case?
Most ext. HD connect via USB and your internal
drives are either IDE or RAID, so you would need
to add an adaptor (if any exists.)
2. FAT32 is a method of formatting hard drives,
not a filetype. Win98 used FAT32 HDs and WinNT
and later NTSC HDs, while WinXP can use both
types.

Standard WinXP installations are keyed to specific
hardware arrangements: so if you alter the hardware
you may need to adapt the OS somehow.

Your post isn't clear. If you have a desktop machine and can take the hard
drive out of the external drive, you can install it in your desktop if
there's room.

There is no such thing as a "FAT 32 file". If you want to convert the file
system from FAT32 to NTFS, then yes this can be done. Refer to this link:

http://aumha.org/win5/a/ntfscvt.htm - Converting FAT32 to NTFS by Alex
Nichol

A better explanation of what you have and what you want to do will help us
help you.

Not enough information.

If the external hard disk drive enclosure is easily opened and the hard disk
drive contained within said enclosure is a type your current computer can
utilize - then you can remove it from its current enclosure and put it into
your computer to utilize - yes.

As far as how it is formatted - if it is FATXX or NTFS - Windows XP (which
is where you are posting) can read it just fine.

If you wish to convert it - look into the command line command: convert ...

Start button --> RUN --> type in:

cmd /k convert /?

--> Click OK.

Not sure you are 100% correct. A lot of external drives are nothing
more than internals put into a case with enough electronics to interface
to the usb cable. I've got 2 that I could just as easily move the
drive to the PC.

Whether the hard drive has a partition that is of FAT32 or not is not
material.

Whether such a partition's file system on a removable hard drive moved
onboard, being FAT32, will be accessible, and, legitimate to "see" all those
files is another question. If that is the question, not always as you may
be lead to believe at this newsgroup.
