External Tablet on Desktop

I am waiting on my Vista Business Edition to arrive and I hope it will now
allow me to do something I've been wanting to do for a while. I use a
graphics tablet an pen as a pointer. I have the newest tablet driver from
the maker and the driver supports Vista. I also have un upgrade to Office
2007 on the way to me.

Will I now be able to use the pen for handwriting input, like I do with my
PDA, as well as a pointing device? What I'm looking for is some type of
graffiti like entry: I write a defined set of characters on the tablet and
the OS recreates this as typed text on screen. I'd like to do this from
standard applications, i.e. Word, Outlook, web browsing, filling in PDF
forms, etc instead of using a keyboard for text entry.

If installation does not automatically install it there is a module
called Tablet PC that you can activate if you use the VISTA equivalent
to XP's Install Windows Components.

Look for [Turn Windows features on or off] in HELP and you'll get the
instructions.

There's all sorts of stuff there, like the Games that are not installed
automatically in the Business version.
