external hard disk

i have jst purchased an internal hard drive and an
external housing for it. everything is installed and
working from what i can see. how is it i can start
transfering files to this new hard drive. i cant even see
a way of accessing the hard disk. cheers
 
Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Disk Management,
select the drive, then click Action tab then All Tasks and format.
