External Firewire Hard Disk

I have an external Firewire Hard Disk... which XP has the
driver for, and is showing in the device manager, but is
not shown in my computer and cannot be browsed for.
 
Has the drive been partitioned and formatted yet? If not go to Disk Management and do so.
 
I have the same problem. The HDD is recognized but does
not show in the device mamager.
 
Mine has been partitioned and all formatted.
