In Outlook new mail, I click on insert file. When file
is added the extension is duplicated.

Example: I inserted name.doc and file name was changed to
name.doc.doc

This happens to systems at location A but does not happen
to systems at location B

At location B we also send ZIP files by renaming the file
junk.zip to junk.tzipt Loation B can insert and send
with no problem.

The users at the other end rename the file back to zip
and unzip it to get the contents.

At location A, clicks on insert file, highlights
junk.tzipt and they get junk.tzipt.zip

what is going on at location A and why doesn't location B
have the same problem.

Differences:
Location B: POP3 and All systems are XP
Location A: Some are XP, some are W2K, no POP3

Does location A run a tool like QuickView Plus?

Problem resolved. Location A has Folder View option to
Hide extensions checked. So users were adding the
extension because they did not know it was hidden.
Location B, we all manage our own systems. There at
location A, the Network team nanages all the systems, so
the users do not know how their systems are setup. Since
they are mostly admin personnel, they do not get into any
technical system changes. We changed there systems so
they can now see the extensions and would be adding the
extension themselves.
