Extending primary partition

J

John

I'm running Windows 2000 Server with a couple of SCSI
hard disks. One disk is partitioned into two dynamic
drives (C: and D:) with the operating system residing on
C:. Is it possible to delete the D: partition and extend
the C: to encompass the whole hard disk? Or is this not
possible because it contains the operating system?
Many thanks.

As I remember Microsoft does not support extending a
primary/boot partition, for the reasons that you
suspect.

HOWEVER,
third party tools such as Parition Magic seem to be
able to do these kinds of things pretty well.
