Exporting to Word - Missing lines?

I have a report with a number of tables of figures which I have put in boxes
and separated with vertical lines. When I export the report to Word none of
the lines show up. Is there a reason for this and is there anyway around it?

I believe that the reason for it is that Access doesn't actually export to
Word, it exports to RTF, and I don't believe RTF supports the lines.
