Exporting Outlook Contacts to csv file but does not work

I am trying to export my contacts to a csv file and I know how to do the
steps. BUT each time I create a csv (even tried to export using Excel) the
fields I choose (first, last name, email address) show up in the file but
none of the contacts make it over. I had someone help me once and somehow she
actually found a way to start the process by Mapping the fields with the
contacts information and then the transfer completed the rest of the
contacts. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I set up a distribution list and then carried that list over to a folder that
is under the contacts folder (on the left hand side of Outlook 2007).
I am trying to set up a mail merge with Word 2007. I know I can mail merge
with a list of addresses from a csv from Outlook 2007.

I have mapped out the fields I want to carry over to a csv file and I have
tried the same with excel.

Like I said before, the person who fixed the issue, (I had the same issue
getting my contacts into outlook from a csv file) she somehow got the
contacts information to show up in the Map Fields boxes and just got the
first contact in and then the program somehow carried the rest over. It was
like we had to show the program what we were trying to do and the program
figured it out.

Please help.
Thanks....

If you are using 2007, don't bother with D/Ls and exporting to csv! Such a
lot of bother.
Just create a Category within your Contacts folder instead of the D/L and
mail merge from that. Far easier...

To Gordon;

So, If I mail merge from a list under my list of contacts and mail merge
from that list, will the emails I send show up as a single email to my client
or as a mass email to 100+ clients?

I have the list of people I want to send an email already as a DL but I have
also copied this list and made it a seperate folder under the contacts folder.

Thanks

It will generate 100 individual messages.
