Exporting contacts email to excel

When I export contacts to excel, in the email column I get the email
addresses plus a repeat prefixed by SMPT. How do I avoid this?

The item you are describing would happen if you mapped the "Root" Email
field instead of the specific email address. If you'll notice - the 3 email
addresses have a plus sign beside them. If you click on the plus sign and
expand it - you'll notice that it will show 3 additional fields (Email
Address - Address Type (= SMTP in your case) - & DisplayAs). Simply map the
actual Email address itself and not the parent field.

PS - this is the same behaviour for ANY field that can be expanded to more
specific detail levels.
