Exporting Access report to Word

My Access weekly contact report contains a memo field
describing the contact. When I export the Access report
to Word, Word randomly and arbitrarily truncates the text
in the memo field on some of my contact instances. The
problem occurs not just on the longer memos, but also on
some shorter ones. Help!

I had a similar problem. Are you using the CanGrow
property of the memo textbox in your report to
automatically size the box depending on the amount of text
in the field? I was. I found that setting the Bottom
margin and left margin properties of the text box to .199
cm (about 3/32 inches) before I exported to Word was
adequate to overcome the problem.

I export data to word using DDE or ODBC. I usually set up
a query to collect the data. From Word, use the "insert
database" function. The problem with DDE is the 255
character limit. When using ODBC you can export large
amounts of data (i.e. memo field).
However if you concatenate two memo fields in the query
the data will still be truncated.

I use Access 2000.

Just wanted to say THANKS!! This solution worked for me and I would never
have thought of it in a million years.

Greetings,

I have the same problem using Acces 2k, trying to export to Excel. It truncates the memo field from Access when larger than 256. I don't understand how to use ODBC. Can you forward the code or instructions of what I should look at and use? Many thanks.
