Help! Just bought a new computer and i want to transfer
my speech recognition profile from my old XP computer to
my new one--I REALLY don't want to go through all that
training agian--I ued it quite a lot and it was actually
getting quite good. I have many an hour invested here--
can anyone help?

Hi Doug,

Profiles are specific to your voice and environment. The Profile Wizard
leads you through several steps to create a Recognition profile. Recognition
profiles allow multiple users to share the same computer without interfering
with each other's setups.

To add a profile:
Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Speech.
On the Speech Recognition tab, click New in the Recognition Profiles box,
and then follow the steps in the Profile Wizard.

Sounds like Doug is familiar with speech profiles. What he wants to do
is export the profile to another machine. Unfortunately, that's not
possible with the mechanisms of XP and Office speech.

PS: Thought this was a crosspost as there is discussion in
windowsxp.basics too. But it's not!

Hope all is well in your part of the world, take care Ms Kelly!
