Export / Import

I purchased a third part outlook backup program that "replaced" the
Import/Export function under "File" -- I have removed the program, but the
Import/Export function has not come back

How do I reinstall this function?

No 3rd party application that I know of does that. Which one were you using?
Tried doing a repair on Office already?

Otherwise share some information about your configuration like at least your
Outlook version.

instead of yr old discs) - without deleting and reinstalling the entie office
suite?

The disks and the download will be the same.
In Outlook do Help-Office Diagnostics.

Just to repeat - do NOT use Import/Export to make a backup - just close
Outlook and make a copy of the pst file.

No you don't - in Outlook do File-Open-Outlook Data File.
Why not use import?
(Courtesy of Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook])

Importing an entire PST may well corrupt your profile and may create a ghost
PST that you can't close. Importing PST's will lose:
1. Custom Forms
2. Custom Views
3. Connections between contacts and activities
4. Received dates on mail
5. Birthdays and anniversaries in calendar
6. Journal connections
7. Distribution Lists

Opening a PST file will preserve all of these. That is why we do not advise
people to import a native file into Outlook.

If the archive PST you have is the one Outlook is actively using, just enable
viewing its folders in the Navigation Pane.
Tools>Options>Other>AutoArchive>Show archive folder in folder list
