export from excel to OL

RandyPerry

I use office 2007. I have a data base of homeowners in Excel (I'm the assoc.
president) and I want to export my HO data i.e. first & last name, address,
phone #, email address, etc from my Excel file to a new contacts group I have
set up in OL 2007.
Can I do that? How?

from Outlook, use the Import/export wizard. File | Import.

You need to name the range in Excel first and close the workbook.

Just to add one minor but important item to Judy's instructions - make sure
that you save your Excel worksheet in Excel 97-2003 (.xls) format since
Outlook doesn't support the Excel '2007 .xlsx format as an import file type.
Alternatively, you can save your worksheet as a CSV file and import that
instead which also negates the need to define a <named range> in Excel (at
least for the purposes of importing into Outlook).
