I spent quite a bit of time organizing contacts into various groups and
folders (custom). Now I want to export all groups and folders using the csv
format . It appears as if the export tool will only export the default
contacts folder? I have an extensive set of contacts in various custom groups
and folders. I want to export or create a file so if I need to move from my
business computer to a personal computer I can bring them with me. Bob

Why would you want to export to another file type? That will lose data. Why
wouldn't you want to retain all your data?
Just make a copy of your Outlook data file.

Russ,
Just make a copy of your Outlook data file.

How? -- I am trying to make a copy of all of my contacts. How could I do it?
Also, can those copies be pasted/transferred in to Outlook 2007? (Currently,
mine is 2003).

Thanks

Russ, The files you speak of are located C:\Documents and
Settings\fittsrob\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook? I see 4
different .pst files and 1 .ost file. What I want to do is ensure myself that
I have a file that contains all of my outlook contacts data. How can I ensure
myself that I have a file that can be used to either move all outlook contact
data to another computer or use it for back up? Bob

Russ, I decided what I needed to do is download the PBT (Personal Folders
Backup tool) and back up all outlook data on to my machine since the contact
data I wanted to secure was being stored on a mail exchanger. My question now
is the PBT tool will back up all contact info even if it is not in the
default outlook contacts folder? Bob

Russ decided to use PBT personal folders back up tool. Will this back up all
contacts regardless if they are not in the default contact folder? Bob

Don't know. I've never used PBT and never would. It is such a simple matter
to look at which file Outlook is using and simply make a copy of it.
