Export contacts in subfolder

I am trying to export my Outlook contacts which works fine with the ones in the Contacts root, but not with the ones in a subfolder of Contacts. The export function doesnt allow me to select only those contacts and ingnores them when I export the whole root. Is there a way to either export these subfolder adresses directly or to move the subfolder to the root? Thanks
