Exploring c: freezes pc

Hi all,

Don't know where to start to solve this. If i select C: in
Windows Explorer, the PC hangs. Same happens in Excel/Word
on File/Open. Any suggestions. Can't 'End Process' in Task
Manager (... debugging ... something). Shutdown too
doesn't finish for a long time.

Pls help. Thanks.

Check the processes tab of task manager, probably svchost
is using up the CPU. If this is the case run anti-virus
software if you can. There are other posts on this site
about this subject. Seems to be a common problem.
