I am currently using Microsoft XP home with SP2 but for some reason my explorer
crashes on the most miniscule of tasks. It crashes sometimes when just
draging a file from one directory to another. It also sometimes crashes just
opening a directory.
Is this a common problem with XP home? Windows 2000 and Windows 98 never
gave me these problems.
Is there a patch i can download to fix my explorer's stability?

Have you updated to version 5.1? When did your problem start? Have you tried
doing a Restore? You can do a repair install overtop the current copy:
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore
Note: You can go back up to 90 days.
How to Perform a Windows XP Repair Install (this is more serious work)

Have you done a thorough check for malware using a variety of programs
and scanning in safe mode.
