Explorer won't disconnect???

Help? For the past month, when I log out of Net Zero or
Yahoo accounts, Internet Explorer won't let go of the
phone line. I have to Alt Del several times and shut down
the computer. Then, when I turn on the machine again --
almost always -- I am asked to recover my active desk top.
I've asked the local computer whizs and downloaded all the
updates with no relief. What can I do?
