Explorer windows format

Each time when using an application I look for a file the windows which opens
has a different format. sometimes files first, or folders first
(alphabetically) or folders first but last used first, and then "date
modified" (the most important to me) usually hidden beyond the right side of
the window.

I woul like that always the same format shows up
Folders first, then files (alphabetically)
Next column "date modified",
then type,
then size.

Can this be done at all?

Thanks,

Pierre

Open up a folder in Windows and arrange it as you like. When you are happy
with how it looks click on 'Tools' at the top then 'Folder Options' and go to
the 'View' tab. Under 'Folder Views' click on 'Apply to All Folders'. The
view you've defined in your current folder will then be the view you will
have in all folders.

Thanks Andy,

it works in most applications and the window they open respects the new
organization I set under Explorer. But some (a few) do not seem to take the
cue from Explorer and continue to show the same sequence of columns, although
the size of columns can still be modified.

Would be helpful if all applications used the same browsing/selection module
direct from Explorer settings.

Thanks again,

Pierre
