Explorer windows 2000 Problem

After opening Explorer (Windows 2000) and after clicking
on toolbar (i.e. -File or edit) response in opening drop
down box is very slow - 20 seconds or more.
 
Check for spyware (a lot of them hook into explorer and intercept calls
inducing this). Ad-Aware from Lavasoft is one to try, you can search for
others.
