XP defaults to icons for folder and file displays.
I generally have folders with hundreds of files. I don't
need pretty pictures running off the the bottom of the
screen any time I am trying find a file. I want to be
able to default to list or details and never to icons.
Thats the way it was in win9x.
I have hunted all over and found no help.
Save the icons for the right-brained Apple users.

First go here and get the tweak to have xp remember 8000 folder views:

(column 1, #2)

Then open explorer and set your view to details(or whatever you want), then
goto: tools, folder options, view tab, apply to all folders. Also make sure
to check: remember each folder's view settings.

Hi, I have the same problem. Have you found how to change
this yet? If you have please let me know. Very frustrated
