Explorer Tree in Word?

Is it possible to set up an "Explorer Tree" (similar to the one that
Microsoft uses in Windows Explorer) in Word? For instance, I have a long
list of a build for an invention and need to break down the individual parts
into more detailed parts. I would like to be able to use the plus and minus
sign next to a heading to display or hide the parts listed under the main
heading. Any help would be appreciated. I am using Microsoft Office 2003
under Windows Server 2003.

What you want is probably right at your finger tips by way of the Document
Map feature... If the doc uses Heading Styles 1-9 for your titles, headings &
subheadings. You may also be able to take advantage of Outline View.

Working with Heading Styles and Outline View were unsuccessful. I found no
way of creating a plus/minus in front of the headings so that it expanded or
contracted with the info in it. Thanks for the help. Any other suggestions.

If you go to View>Document Map, a panel will appear on the left of the doc &
the headings will be listed in an indented fashion based on level. Any with
sublevels will be automatically equipped with +/- signs.

In Outline View, the Outline Toolbar provides the capability to
collapse/expand the doc based on heading levels, as well as other controls
for related purposes.
