explorer shuts down and run command appesrs not to be working

a Whenever I try to open a program I get the messages explorer has
encountererd a problem and has to close or windows has encountered a problem
and needs to close. This problem does not affect firefox or gmail just my
windows programs.

I hsve run several spywar checks and nothing shows but the problem started
after I did an update in sp2. Anew problem seems to have started todsy using
run thn entering a commnd doesn't seem to work but I could hsve been uding s
wrong commsnd can anybody suggest s command I can try
 
I encountered this problem too in the past and the only thing I found that
would work is to reformat my comp. Maybe you could try to just Repair windows
using the Installation cds thought.

Oh, and this problem IS caused by SP2 just so you know. Try talking to
someone from windows, thats what I did to install SP2 correctly.
