Lola and Gary

I have Windows XP. I use to be able to just type in a key word in the
address bar and I would be automatically directed to numerous sites to
choose from. Now if I type in for example "Amazon" I just get a blank page
stating this page cannot be displayed. Any ideas on what I may have messed
up?

Lola or Gary;
Try this:

Start IE | Tools | Internet Options | Advanced tab | Scroll down to
¶ When searching
UNCHECK
Do not search from the Address bar
Specifies to not use the Address bar for searches. You can still perform searches in the Search bar by
clicking the Search button in the toolbar.
Apply | OK

In IE | click the Search Icon | Click the >> next to New and Next | Customize | Autosearch Settings |
Select anything BUT Do not search from the Address Bar | OK | OK | Clcik the [X] on Search

Cannot get customize bar to do anything. I only have "web search" as any
engine. Noting happens when I click on the customize tab. Is there a patch
or fix to correct this in IE?

That helped some, I at least now have the search companion back. Ran the
Qhost repair utility. Now the customize tab is gone, not sure where it
went. Bummer especially when I have all kinds of protection software on
here. I still cannot search from the address bar,
and the customize tap is gone, any tips for these. This is a big help so
far, thanks. My wife just like being able to search from the address bar.

say they can find the information I need. How do I stop that?
