I just installed a new computer system with internet explorer 6.0 Latest
Edition up grade. I went to some web sites for example

www.pcworld.com

I have spyware blocking software and fire wall running and also pop ups in
Explorer. When I went to the site above and looked at some of the pages, I
TRIEd to do the < Back Page and it says on the bottom in the STATUS bar
back page ad.doubleclick whic is in the pc world system, and then connecting
to 127.0.0.1 i have to repeeadely, keep clicking the back page to work.
NEtscape does NOT have this problem.

I have run Ad aware run Webroot Spy sweeper both through the whole system
and see no prblems, also Have security settings in emplorer set to defaults.

To make the back page work i have to click and click rapidly to make it
finally catch but think theres something noe right here.
Thanks

Hi Mark :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

First, go to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab>
Reset to the "Default" settings
Do the same thing with the Security settings.

Close IE and reopen. See if that resolves the problem. If so, then you can
slowly reapply the settings that you know you changed before one by one to
see which one, if any, may have caused the problem.

and...per Jon Kennedy - MVP

Try this - in IE go to Tools...Internet Options...Advanced tab, scroll down
to the Security section and uncheck "Do not save encrypted pages to disk",
click Apply, click Okay. This may help in your situation as you've
mentioned you're at a shopping site.

If still no joy, then:

"Page has expired" error when using the Back button

also...

As an additional note.....you should also be aware that webmasters can, and
many do, set up their website coding to prevent use of the back button,
which will create the Page has Expired situation, and there is nothing you
can do to correct or prevent this in IE. Once you are sure you have covered
all avenues on your end to be sure it is not IE related, you can send a
message to the webmaster and ask them to check or remove that part of their
coding. It is a widely used practice by many webmasters, but,
unfortunately, there seems to be no web policy to prevent this type of
entrapment, so to speak, other than peer pressure that it is not good form.
Sometimes, it is just that they have not kept up with the changes in XP or
SP2 that may affect how those users can access or view their website. It's
just another aspect of the problem many are not aware of.

Hope this helps.

hangs and shows 127.0.0.1 and stalls.

FIRST----- > found in the Skyware blocking program in Webroot Spysweeper I
unclicked the HOSTS FILES and in the IE I went to OPTIONS Advanced UNCLICKED
THE de BUG SCRIPTS Program works fine now
