explorer opens new window when double clicking folders

When I'm in explorer and I have the folders and files
displayed, usually when I double-click them they open
quickly in the existing window. But now it opens a new
window up which is actually the explorer search window...
can anybody help me get it back to normal?
 
Check your folder options settings, open explorer, tools,
folder options, on browse folders put a bullet in open
each folder in the same window.
