Explorer opening time seems endless...

Hello!

I have a laptop here that has win2k installed.
When I open the file-explorer it takes ages to open. When it is open it
works fine and fast.
Can anybody tell me if there is a way to enhance the startupspeed of the
explorer?

In a command prompt, type

net use <enter>

Do you have any drives mapped to inaccessible sources? If you remove all
drive mappings by typing

net use * /del <enter>

....does it make this work faster?
