Explorer not working

When I right click start>>explore, the exporer window
starts to appear then dissappears. After a couple of
seconds the desktop reappears, the explorer window will
not open.

Use the System File Checker. Run
SFC /scannow
from Start > Run to do so. If this does not help, check your system
for viruses. If nothing is found you may want to reinstll Windows to
repair the error.

Then something is up and possibly damaged.
