Explorer keeps crashing when viewing network

John Hyde

Hi,

I have a home WiFi network with a PC and two laptops. I
can access the network no problem. My problem is viewing
my shared folders on my home PC.

On the home PC, I select start then My Network Places
then I select SharedDocs under SharedDocs I have MyMusic
and MyPictures if I click on one of these folders I get
an explorer crash I then get a Send error dialog box
which I send. I can view these folders from both of the
networked PCs it just the local that crashes.

Any tips on how to fix this. I'm stumped.

Hmm, no response from Microsoft. No wonder people hate
your products.

Your assumption that you are talking to Microsoft here is very
much incorrect. This is a peer support newsgroup. We are all just
users trying to help each other when we can. Although there is an
occasional Microsoft employee here, it's not in any official
capacity.

Nobody here has any obligation to help you. People help only when
they can. Maybe nobody knows the answer; maybe someobody who does
know hasn't read your question yet. There's never a guarantee
that you get help here (although most people do), but a little
politeness toward the folks here who try to help out of their own
good will (nobody gets paid to help you here) would go a long
way.

Did they ever answer any of your Send error submissions? Nope. Will they
ever answer any of your Send error submissions? Nope.

There might be a lot of reasons nobody has replied yet. One could be that
Crass-sandra hasn't seen it yet and will get around to yelling at you
later. Another is that those really helpful MVPs don't have a URL to
somebody else's answer (preferably wrong, or having nothing to do with
what you asked) to give you. It could also be that the one or two people
that might actually know haven't gotten to it yet.

Be patient and give them a little more time.

The email address is real. I'm just too dumb to spell it
right. I hav n enlich dergreeee. Replace my brain with
whatever has more sense, like a toaster or a cat's furball.
The dead-brained are people, too. I'm their president.
Please respond directly back to the group so we can spend
countless hours discussing how anal retentive I am, and
how little I contribute to actually solving anything except
keeping the number of participants artificially low because
of my immediate attack on almost every question I see.
